| BathSpa
University has around 5,500 students and they offer pre-degree,
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in art and design, performing
arts, education, humanities, English, business and management and
many other subjects. BathSpa became a university in 2005 and is
situated in England's only World Heritage City which is famous for
its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, as well as its abbey. BathSpa University's Newton Park campus, where all courses and subjects except art and design are located, is a spectacular parkland estate. The campus has its own lakes, nature reserve, woods and farmland, along with numerous historic buildings. A frequent bus service takes our students right into the city centre. The facilities at Newton Park include a modern library, lecture theatres, laboratories and two performing arts venues. The students' Union houses a large bar and common room, a bookshop, stationery shop and general shop. At the Sion Hill campus, art and design working areas include graphic design studios; electronic media workshops; studios for art, textiles and sculpture; workshops for wood, etching, lithography and silkscreen printing; and photography darkrooms. BathSpa University has been designated a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), the only one in the Uk for both Creativity and the Arts as well as Enterprise and Employability. |

chose this course because I have always wanted to be a performer
on stage. Performing Arts (Acting) enables me to improve on my acting
but also have the opportunity to still work on my dancing skills
and musical skills. When I came to audition at Bath Spa I had an
amazing day. The campus was beautiful and the staff were very helpful
and friendly. My audition gave me such a buzz that I knew it was
the university for me. On my course there are so many creative people
and I love having the opportunity to create new pieces of theatre
with them. When I graduate I would love to be in the musical theatre
industry, and also start up my own theatre company." |
